Why Mental Health Matters

Mental health isn’t just about feeling good. It’s about feeling understood, supported, and able to live life on your own terms. For people with ADHD, autism, anxiety or depression, mental wellbeing plays a vital role in everyday routines, relationships, and self-expression.

The NDIS recognises that mental health and neurodiversity are deeply connected to a person’s quality of life. That’s why NDIS counselling services and psychology supports are designed to meet people where they’re at without judgment and with genuine care.

At Sureway Health & Wellbeing, we honour your lived experience and tailor our approach to suit your needs. If you’re seeking NDIS autism support, an ADHD assessment, or ongoing NDIS mental health support, we’re here to help you feel empowered every step of the way.

Counselling for NDIS Participants

Who is this for?

Our NDIS psychology services are for participants who have mental health goals in their NDIS plan and are seeking support to improve daily living, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth.

This includes support for people with Autism, ADHD, and other psychosocial disabilities, as well as individuals experiencing anxiety, the effects of trauma, or depression related to their disability

Psychology supports may be funded by the NDIS when they are considered reasonable and necessary to help you:

  • Manage mental health symptoms and build life skills
  • Improve independence, self-confidence, and daily functioning
  • Strengthen social and community connections
  • Address challenges related to your disability
  • Achieve specific goals outlined in your NDIS plan using evidence-based strategies

If psychology services are not currently included in your plan but align with your needs, your support coordinator or plan manager can help you explore options for having them added.

This service is suitable for people with Capacity Building > Therapeutic Supports or Improved Daily Living goals in their NDIS plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Psychology can be funded under the NDIS if it’s considered reasonable and necessary to help you work toward your goals. It’s often included in plans that focus on improving daily living, capacity building, social connection, or managing various psychosocial disabilities, including autism and ADHD.

That’s completely fine since starting therapy can feel like a big step. Our psychologists are kind, compassionate, and trained to make you feel comfortable from the very first session, supporting you at your own pace.

If you have mental health goals in your NDIS plan, or challenges linked to a disability that affects your daily life, you may be eligible. Your support coordinator or plan manager can help review your plan and guide you through the next steps.

You can talk about anything that’s affecting your mental health or wellbeing.

This could include dealing with social difficulties or learning how to manage your psychosocial disability, as well as the effects of anxiety, depression, and trauma related to your disability. Our sessions are a safe space for you to express yourself and explore solutions.

If you’re already an NDIS participant, you don’t need a referral to access our services, but you may need funding in your plan. We can also help connect with your coordinator or plan manager if support is needed to include psychology services.

But, if you don’t currently have NDIS funding and would like to access our services, please contact us to discuss other options that may be available for you.

To get started in your journey, reach out to us – your NDIS psychology provider, and one of our friendly team members will walk you through the process. We’re here to make accessing support simple, welcoming, and stress-free.
